この前vanguard jazz orchestraを聴きに行った。sax５人 、born４人、pet５人、Pf, Bass, Drums. 最近こういうのに興味がある。熱があっても行った。次の日下がったので良かったけど。

It has been said, “Not everything that is learned is contained in books.” Compare and contrast knowledge gained from experience with knowledge gained from books. In your opinion, which source is more important? Why?

  Knowledge is important things for useful and happy daily life. People get knowledge from books, news paper, TV, Internet, and their experience. Some people gain knowledge from books. Other people gain knowledge from experience. I believe that real knowledge is more important gaining from experience than gaining from books. Because there is reliability and preciousness that knowledge gained from experience than knowledge gained from books.

  On the one hand, I play music. I learned music theory from so many text books for more than 10 years. But It is not possible playing music only from books of knowledge without performing of experience. I realize about unknown things when I always perform at Jam session and performance gig. I have knowledge of music. But I can’t use these knowledge until experience by myself and I don’t  know that book of information is useful and truth. I think realizing is very important for gaining precious knowledge with experience.

  On the other hand, books are also important. We can’t spend much time for gaining knowledge in our daily life. Books are very useful because we can get information of various contents and details from into a book. In my opinion, Books are experience of authors. Author must be mention about rare experience and valuable information into their books. We may not have known only from the experience.

  However, Knowledge gained from experience is more beneficial, confidence and provide a better understanding of the subject than knowledge gained from books. For instance, Human brain learns by experience. People always forget many things soon even important things in daily life. I think that precious knowledge is accomplished by combine knowledge of books and experience. And we’ll know that knowledge is useful or not.

  In conclusion, People get knowledge from books, news paper, TV, Internet, and their experience. Some people gain knowledge from books. Other people gain knowledge from experience. From my point of view, knowledge should be confirmed at least one time by experience after learning books. Then we can gain knowledge with confidence and beneficially. Consequently, knowledge gained from experience is more important than knowledge gained from books.

ライティングの勉強を再び始めた。いろんなテーマがあるのでとりあえず網羅しようと思う。でも添削する人がいないので困った。

最近また深夜のジャムセッションに通い始めた。何回行っても弾くまではドキドキで色々な不安が頭をよぎる。しかしもう全てを捨てて一から学ぶつもりで参加する事で毎回得るものが多い。色々なその日限りの集まったミュージシャンと演奏するのが新鮮で楽しい。サックスやギターやボーカルはもちろん、この前はタップダンサーと一曲演奏した。
すでに有名バンドに参加しているミュージシャンが現れたりしてスーパープレイが真近で見れるので、ものすごく勉強になる。
細かな失敗ばかりだが出来た所を思い出して良しとする。意外と帰りしなにバーカウンターで聴いていたお客さんにniceだった有難うと言ってもらえたり、あの曲聴きたかったんだよと声をかけてくれる事もあるのでとてもうれしい。
また最近はNYで忙しく活動している友人、知人のミュージシャンのライブにも行くようにしている。会いたくて会いに行く人ばかりなので、素晴らしい音楽や色々な貴重な話が聞けて、何か自分にも良い影響を与えてくれる気がする。最近思うのは自分を作るのは自分ではなく全て周りの人々なのだなとよく思う。そうなると親しくしたい人や身を置きたい環境が沢山でてくる。 世界中から色々な人が集まるこの町は自分にとって貴重な町だとつくづく思う今日この頃である。
